THREE generations of wedding dresses from the same mily will be on show at the Casino Wedding and Event Expo at Relihan Centre at St Mary&39;s Catholic College Casino on Sunday.
The expo will include a shion parade featuring more than 20 pre-loved wedding gowns from 1959 through to the present day, with one dress dating from 1937.
The owner of the 1937 wedding dress, Helen Gills, has donated wedding dresses from three generations of her mily,cheap wow eu gold. including another two from 1987 and 1959.
"My mother went in search of her wedding dresses for the parade and during the search my aunt came across my grandmother&39;s dress from 1937 in a suitcase with her own dress dating from 1959," she said.
"The 1937 dress is so delicate and petite, it&39;s almost child size.
"When it was discovered it still had all the corsetry that went along with it.
"Back in those days the style was to look quite flat and elongated with not much shape.
"One of my daughter&39;s young friends will be modelling our dresses because some of us don&39;t quite look the same as we did on our wedding day.
"We expected it to be difficult to find dresses for the parade but we were surprised at how many people had kept their dresses, and even their mothers&39; wedding dresses.
"Even women who have got divorced have kept their dresses.
"So the wedding dress is obviously a very important keepsake from the wedding."
Organiser Joanne Piccoli said her vourite dress was the 1937 dress as it was so elegantWedding dresses and .
"So much mily history has come back as we went looking for these dresses,CFB Esquimalt. Dofus Kamas " she said.
"There have been a lot of changes over the years.
"The dresses from the &39;60s were full of tulle, the &39;70s dresses are very elegant.
"The dresses from the &39;80s were just over the top and today&39;s dresses are r."
The newest dress was worn just two weeks ago.
The expo will also feature more than 20 other exhibitors from the local area, including wedding and formal wear hire companies, wedding celebrants hon gold,buy cheap runescape gold. wedding co-ordinators and decorators, hen&39;s nights, photographers and car hire companies.
The expo will raise funds for Windara, a not-for-profit organisation that provides employment and training for 19 adults with disabilities in the Casino region.
The expo starts at starts at 9.30am with the shion parade starting at 12.30pm.
